Help with downloads
Wallpaper
To download the wallpaper, click on the download link. When the picture finishes loading, right-click (Win) or click/hold (Mac) it and choose Save or Set As Wallpaper. The tile wallpapers have no download links. Just save them right from the page.
Screen Savers
Choose either the Zippy or Zippy Makes a Pie screen saver, and select Save when prompted. When the download is complete, find the .exe file on your computer, then double-click it and installation will begin.
Sounds are on by default—you can turn them off from the Multimedia tab in the screen saver’s Settings dialog box.
The screen savers are completely uninstallable through the Add/Remove Programs area of Control Panel.
Sorry, these only run on Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, NT and XP—no Mac versions.
Current versions posted 1/1/2002.
Icons
Icons for Windows users:
To download the icons, just click on the download link and select Save when prompted. If you can’t remember where you saved to, look for a file named zipicons.exe. Double-click it and the file will unzip into a folder called “zipicons.” Even though this is an executable file (.exe), it will not install anything—it just unzips the icons into their folder.
To use your Zippy icons: Right-click any shortcut (or create shortcuts for icons you can’t change), select Properties/Shortcut/Change Icon/Browse.
Icons for Mac users:
To download the icons, just click on the download link. It will not install anything—it just unstuffs the icons into their folder.
To use your Zippy icons: Select an icon, click it, then go to File/Get Info. Click the picture of the icon, then click Edit/Copy. Find a file or folder whose icon you want to replace, click it, then go to File/Get Info. Click the picture of the icon, then click Edit/Paste. You can also check for shareware programs that will let you easily change system icons like the Trash.
Sounds
Sounds can be changed in Windows through Settings/Control Panel/Sounds.
On a Mac, go to Control Panels/Sounds.
To download the sounds, just click on the appropriate download link. It will not install anything—it just decompresses the sounds into their own folder.
WinAmp skins
ZippyAmp is a skin for WinAmp, a freeware mp3 player for Windows. Skins allow the interface to the program to be changed to any of a variety of images.
Just download the file of your choice then double-click the file to automatically copy it to your WinAmp skins folder. (If that doesn't work on your system, just move the file into Winamp's skins folder.)
