Message: Hey there Zippy! We have a new thing here - SNOW!!! And lots of it, too. We have so much our mom had to dig us a path so we can go out and do our duty. She laughs at our bunny butts - especially when we reverse because we don’t want to go down the steps... This is so cool (forgive the pun, OK?) This snow thing is great! Our mom can’t go anywhere and stays home with us. We get way more treats and snacks when she has to stay home so the more snow the better. Our mom told us that this year is the most snowiest of all the years in Arlington so far. Thay may be true but all we know is that we are happy about this snow stuff and hope we get more so she stays home longer. That’s all from us right now. Snow on!
Bis ’n Sis
Zippy responds: Glad you guys are having fun! Bring on the snow and the snacks!

Message: Zippy, I am happy to report that I am celebrating my 4th anniversary since cancer surgery! Mom and Dad are going to throw me a Sweet 16 birthday party in May with plenty of corgi treats and friends. I must admit that I’m interested in corgi treats, and interested in friends, just as long as there’s not TOO much sharing of the corgi treats WiTH the friends. I’m sure you’ll be there partying with me in spirit! Yours in snackage, Sophie

Message: Zippy Mom and dad have three vac’s in our house. One for the furniture (Dirt devil Hand Vac with power head), one for everyday pick ups on hard surfaces (swiffer sweeper vac) and the regular vac for ‘super suck saturday’ (when the whole house is done.) Sounds a bit anal, we know, but it keeps the place clean. By the way, there are now 4 corgis at our house! The three of us and the one that lives in the vacuum... we call her ‘Filtre Queen’ :)

Message: Hey Zip, hope you’re enjoying winter, I certainly am except I don’t like crusty snow when you fall thru and then we with no legs have a problem. Also I am enjoying all the gifts the rabbits leave me. I have found that the surest way to irritate my mom when its cold out is to sniff every molecule of ground in search of the above while she waits for me to do my business. Hope you have a wonderful holiday and get lots of good stuff. Corgis rule! Love, Izzy

Good luck Zip. Our Thanksgiving is coming up soon and we will be sure to think of you at tableside.

Message: Hello Zip Summer is starting the long wind down up here. It has been a hot one. Because of this the fig tree has produced a bumper crop. Oliver lives for figs at this time of year and now has a habit of standing at the front door mid evening asking to go into the front yard to graze on ‘tree gifts’. (Figs that are lying on the grass) Dad calls him the ‘fig pig’. Weeeeelllllll, without going into too much detail they have certainly taught Oliver what his guts are for! I leave the rest to your imagination... Morgan and I are so so on them. Are they in your gastronomic repetoire? Salmon fishing season is coming soon so we are readying our ‘rolling in stink’ skills.
Yours in Corgidom. Haley, Oliver and Morgan
Zippy responds: Hmm, I don’t think I’ve ever had a fig! I am jealous, and a little disturbed to learn of a new food that my folks have thus far deprived me of. I think I will go on a hunger strike. Oh, wait, no, I won’t. I’m a Corgi. No such thing for me. But rolling in salmon sounds divine.

Message: Dear Zippy,
Hey, guess what? I just moved back to America after 2 years in London. I never saw but one Corgi on the streets...his name was Maurice. He was tri colour like us and then my parents went to Hong Kong and met a red shaved Corgi..because it was so HOT there.
Hope you and Daisy are satying cool. I like to bite the water out of the garden hose and get all wet. I am also jealous because my parents feed birds...and water them too. Let me know your tips on how to get some sunflower seed of my own. Your long-time friend, Lorena

Message: Dear Zippy, I am writing to let you know that our beloved Jenny, aka Her Majesty, passed on to Corgi Heaven earlier this month. (I think she had a stroke.) We were kind of shocked because she was only 12 1/2 in people years, though I realize that is 87 1/2 in dog ones. Somehow I thought she’d live to at least 100 with all the energy she had. Although we are extremely sad and miss her terribly, we are so thankful for the years of fun and love we had with her. I’d just like to remind your human readers to make sure their dogs know they are loved. Zippy, would you consider making a bumper sticker that reads, “Have you hugged your Corgi today?” with your cute zippyweb logo from the top of this page? All the best to you and your wonderful humans, Jenny’s Mom.

Message: Hi Zippy! Do you ever go on vacations with your two-leggers? I just returned from my first long road trip with mine. It was a blast. I discovered that riding on the lady two-legger’s lap for the nearly 3K miles we logged was much more comfortable than lying on the floor of the car. She complained about her legs falling asleep, but I didn’t feel anything unusual so I don’#8217;t know where that came from. I saw some bison but the two-leggers wouldn’t let me herd them. I did get to taste a little bit of one though, in burger form. MMMMMM! Many people we met along the way gave me pets and belly rubs; it was the least I could do to let them indulge themselves. I’m looking forward to many more travels in the future! Enjoy the rest of your summer, Zippy!

Message: Hi Zip, I know we said we would write in the Fall but sheez, we forgot summer! It has been very hot here the last few days and we northern Corgis haven’t had time to acclimitize. Needless to say we are “pooped pooches”. It’s ok though, Mum and Dad have tempered our activities so we don’t return from our outings too exhausted. The gardens are in for the season and Morgan has found an especially comfy nook under a Hosta in a corner of the flower bed. Dad is not amused at the stems Morgan has crushed in the process. An 2009 spy cams would be fun, too - huh? huh? huh? will you do it? will you? please??? Sorry - our corginess got going there for a minute....later!
Zippy responds: You are true Corgis, Bis and Sis, but for complete Corgi-begging effectiveness, be sure to add “Now? Now? How about now?” to any sentence that contains “huh? huh? huh?” My folks are somewhat amused that there is someone (anyone) who requests more of their cartoons. I have tried to explain that it’s the Corgi subject matter, not their animation skills, but sometimes you just have to roll your eyes and sigh.

Message: zippy, I am watching Animal Cops and i feel like ripping a pillow in half. I cannot beleive what some people do to their animals!!!! Right now, the team is emptying out a pit bull fighting rink. I think that pit bull fighting is so wrong and it makes me so angry. Not many people know that pit bulls are sweet, intelligent, and fiercely loyal animals that sadly have been bred to be vicious and aggressive and i think that its depressing that this beautiful dog has been turned into this kind of crap. As much as I wish that these dogs were still the sweet and gentle animals that they were originally bred to be, i know that most of them are unpredictable and its almost impossible to find a dog whos heritage has no fighting dogs in it. I feel so terrible as a human that some people have done this and still do this to animals. It makes me so depressed to see animal cruelty.

Message: Hi Zip! Happy summer! I’m trying to talk my mom into getting a fenced in yard for me because i love to be outside more than anything and I don’t mind being tied up but if I had a fence I could find more stuff to do. I have learned how to roll around on my back in the grass but sometimes its hard to get upright again and this is a great source of amusement for my people. I am glad to have a purpose in life and I think I have lost a little weight. Hope you are well. Love,Izzy
Zippy responds: Yeah, a fenced-in yard is great! Tell your mom I said so! And I understand completely about the rolling. It’s like your center of gravity gets messed up, and you can’t figure out which way to go for the best momentum to return to an upright and standing position. And you look confused for a second or two, and everyone laughs. Good times.

(thats what we call it...) anyway, olivers ear thing cleared up, finally, then we found a growth on haley’s eyeball. (yuk) back to dr. debbie again... we were relieved when the biopsy came back negative, whew! morgan lost another tooth chasing sticks. his nickname now is “cletus the slack jawed corgi”... honestly, it’s been a real “vets christmas”. they say things happen in threes so, enough already! we hope your holiday seasaon went well and the new year has been better than ours weather wise. corgi legs may look endearing but they sure suck from a practical perspective. (as in when your in deep snow...) three long months to the next long weekend, sigh. keep well zip. until the spring. haley, oliver and morgan
Zippy responds: Wow, Haley, it’s like the People say, if it’s not one thing, it’s another. Hang in there! Spring will come!

Message: dearest zippy and daisy, i am so glad to see you two again. my ‘brother’ (a 14yo pot-bellied pig) and i (a very handsome just turned 12 pembroke) were just ‘talking’ yesterday about how much we missed your musings and that we hoped that neither of you had something bad happen... like ‘going over the rainbow’ or maybe your parents going splitsville and you being taken away from the computer. welcome back you two and if your people could take shots of you two out roaming around outdoors again, that would be ‘woofing’ great. your pals in ms, arlo, abbey and their person charles
Zippy responds: Oh, Arlo, you worry so. But I would love to hear a conversation between you and your brother.
